i wash the grease from my hair with shampoo scrubbing until the hot water burns my scalp red and raw i stand still, letting the water burn my skin
how i wish i could be shampoo carried away into the drain sinking into an abyss i crave being able to disappear into nothingness free to slide down the pipes, chased by water and conditioner free to feel everything and nothing at all but instead i stand, imagining what it would be like to simply exist and feel rather than to live. my scalp burns. my soul is heavy. Charlize Marriott is a 16-year-old Australian from the outer suburbs of Sydney. When she’s not writing to make sense of her chaotic life, you can find Charlize reading tarot cards or practising yoga. Charlize has always found solace in creativity, constantly writing stories from a young age. As she has grown up, Charlize found that poetry allowed her space to express her emotions without judgement. Comments are closed.
